The Karajan Akademie offers talented young musicians the opportunity to perfect their skills with a scholarship from the Berliner Philharmoniker.  In addition to individual lessons with lecturers from the ranks of the orchestra, members of the academy gain valuable experience in rehearsals and concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker and leading conductors. Founded in 1972 on the initiative of Herbert von Karajan, the academy is also indispensable in securing the next generation of musicians for the Berliner Philharmoniker. But former members of the Karajan Akademie can also be found in famous orchestras all over the world.
