The 2024/25 season opens, following long–established tradition, with a concert conducted by our chief conductor. For the occasion, Kirill Petrenko has chosen Anton Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony. This is no coincidence, since 2024 marks Bruckner’s 200th birthday, and his works will be the focus of this year’s programme. Just one day later, the new edition of Musikfest Berlin also kicks off, with a wide range of orchestras and soloists in concert at the Philharmonie and throughout the city.
In the new season, you can also look forward to concerts with renowned guest conductors – some of whom will be making their debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Pianist Seong–Jin Cho gives the first concert of his 2024/25 residency under the baton of Paavo Järvi. And we look forward to the first edition of our new short–format concert series, Ausklang.
