Bruckner is seldom played in Boston; and his Fifth Symphony is even more of a rarity. So the anticipation is even greater than usual for both orchestra and audience. And at this concert, it seems as if the symphony had been written especially for this hall. The audience first utterly still and quiet, until the final chord - then they can barely remain their seats. Thank you, Celebrity Series, for this memorable concert!
