Festival “Xberg & Du”
Performance at the Biennale “Paradise Lost?”

There are many ways to discover classical music for yourself. We support such new encounters through a wide range of programmes, especially our family and interactive concerts for music-lovers of all ages. With colourful and entertaining stories, we spark curiosity, opening ears and eyes to the wonderful world of music. We also invite you to experience the Berliner Philharmoniker up close, with the members of the orchestra as well as with Kirill Petrenko, who will be there as conductor and presenter.

Music is also a way to contribute to current social discussions. That's why we offer projects that encourage participation and involvement. This season, for example, Xberg & You invites young adults from Berlin-Kreuzberg to organise their own festival. And at the Berliner Philharmoniker Biennale on the theme of “Paradise Lost? On the Threat to Nature”, a new work by Alexander Schubert, commissioned for the occasion, raises questions about the interaction between the body, technology and identity. This interdisciplinary performance of dance and audiovisual art, instrumental and electronic music creates an opportunity for discussion and exchange.

Classical concerts are exciting, but a trip behind the scenes can also be a thrilling experience. We make this possible with our family tours of the Philharmonie and the Musical Instrument Museum. We want not only to introduce our famous concert hall, but also to make it resonate. This is a hands-on event; trying things out and joining in is expressly encouraged!
