Whether Mendelssohn’s tenderly lyrical violin concerto, Bruckner’s overwhelming Seventh Symphony or pianistic excursions into Robert Schumann’s Waldstücke: The 2024/25 season presents a rich selection of Romantic repertoire with weighty orchestral works and radiant chamber music. Kirill Petrenko and distinguished soiloists – like violinists Frank Peter Zimmermann and Augustin Hadelich – represent a further seal of quality for this emotionally intense repertoire. For the series, the Berliner Philharmoniker will be joined by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and prominent chamber musicians.
