Due to health reasons, Daniel Barenboim has with great regret had to cancel the concerts from 8 to 10 May at the Philharmonie Berlin and the concert on 18 May as part of the Mahler Festival in Amsterdam.
The Berliner Philharmoniker are very grateful to Sakari Oramo for his willingness to take over the programme unchanged. Oramo is Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Partner of the Gürzenich Orchestra. He has been a regular guest conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2001.
